Most of my longest friendships have been with my Flamenco friends because we have learned and speak the very powerful and moving language of Flamenco.

I dearly miss my community in Toronto and am hoping to create another as big and as rich here in Phoenix.

If you're looking for an after school activity for your 12 -18 year old that will develop their minds, bodies, hearts and souls, increase their self-confidence, core life skills and resilience, Flamenco is one of the best art forms to achieve all of those goals.
As a child I was incredibly shy with very low self-esteem. I either rode my bike a lot alone, read in my room, or drew solo. I tried everything from fencing to acting, but nothing was really getting me out of my shell, nor developing me as a person significantly until I found Flamenco.
Flamenco originates from community and the world of the outcast and the underdog. The world of the person who comes from little materially, but due to it grows rich internally to cope. It teaches self-esteem, motivation and resilience like no other experience I've encountered.
I fell so in love with the aesthetic, culture and personality of Flamenco, that there was no choice but to get 'over myself' and do whatever it took to develop into the kind of person that could dance Flamenco from her bones, heart and soul.
